NOTE: WebTrackIII version 1.6 was released 6/8/2011.
We recommend that all instructors upgrade to version 1.6 before the start of the next semester. This version corrects a rare problem that occurred only with very specific student data.
To upgrade:
-
1.Close WebTrack.
-
2.Make a backup copy of your /webtrack/ folder.
-
3.Download webtrackiii.zip to a local drive or folder.
-
4.Unzip webtrackiii.zip.
-
5.Copy the files from the unzipped folder to your /webtrack/ folder. This will overwrite the program, but should not affect your existing WebTrack instructor account or consolidated data files.
WebTrack is a program that moves student data from Tracking Files created with various BookOn products to the instructor’s computer where that data can be viewed, filtered, sorted, and exported.
In a sense, WebTrackIII works like e-mail, with data flowing through the queues from the student to the instructor. Student data is temporarily placed on the WebTrack queues. When the instructor downloads and consolidates data, it is added to the local database on the instructor’s computer. After successful consolidation, the data is removed from the queues.
WebTrackIII is a cross-platform, portable application. What does that mean?
-
1.WebTrackIII does not require installation. Just unzip and use. If you copy the WebTrack folder to a USB Flash drive, you can run the program from most any Windows or Mac computer.
-
2.WebTrackIII runs on both Windows and Mac computers, using the same database on both systems.
