6/8/2011: WebTrackIII version 1.6 released

This version corrects a rare problem that occurred only with some very specific student data.

1/27/2011: WebTrackIII version 1.5 released

Corrects a problem that could occur with version 1.4 if data was consolidated while viewing a query with no matching results.

12/31/10: Released WebTrackIII version 1.4 with support for:

1.New Perspectives on Computer Concepts 2012
2.Speed optimizations for Show Best and Show First Result routine with larger databases.

12/24/09: Released WebTrackIII version 1.12 with support for:

1.New Perspectives on Computer Concepts 2011
2.Support for the new Chirps student messaging feature being introduced with New Perspectives on Computer Concepts 2011.

To download and install this update:

1. Exit WebTrackIII so you can replace the executable file.

2.Click the Download WebTrackIII link in the sidebar on this page.
3.Unzip the file after download to reveal the updated files.
4.Copy the unzipped files to your WebTrackIII folder. This will update the engine and help file, but will NOT affect your student data files or instructor account.

12/22/08: Released Updated Technology Guide as multimedia BookOnDownload

This update to the Technology Guide provides a multimedia instructor's introduction to WebTrackIII and other products related to the BookOn titles, including New Perspectives on Computer Concepts, The Practical PC, and Practical Office. Click Technology Guide on the main menu to download.

3/20/08: Activated WebTrackIII Version 1.5

This update includes the following features:

1. Modified batch processing of instructor queues with large files to eliminate problems that could result in need to repeat consolidation of data to retrieve all data waiting in the queues.

2. Various tweaks to the Web consolidation process to reduce the time required for downloads of large queues. This can substantially reduce download times for queues containing a large number of results.

3.Modified operation for better performance when running from a Flash drive on Apple Mac computers.

1/1/2008: Activated WebTrackIII version 1.4

This release includes support for recently released titles including Practical Office 2007; The Practical PC, 5th Edition; Computer Concepts Illustrated, 7th Edition; and New Perspectives on Computer Concepts, 11th Edition.

5/22/07: Activated WebTrackIII version 1.3.

This release includes a number of recent changes, including the following:

NEW FEATURES:

1. Added support for backup WebTrack server functionality, which will be included in future releases of the BookOnCD engine. This feature will essentially remain dormant until BookOnCD products with support for the backup server are published later this year.

2. Added new Show Best Scores Only button. This filters the current data view to show only the best score for each student/activity. The filtered view can be saved as HTML or exported as a comma-delimited file.

3. Modified the functionality of the result grid and Delete Selected Row button to allow selection of multiple results and batch deletion of the selected results. This will simplify deletion of all results from a particular student, as when a student drops a class.

FIXES:

1. WebTrackIII now processes large numbers of downloads in batches to avoid a memory problem that could occur if there were a very large number of result files and results in an instructor's WebTrack queue.

2. Expanded the user ID field to 30 characters to match the maximum field length allowed in WebTrackII.

3. Includes a fix for a problem identified in previous beta version that could prevent reloading of the original database if the Tools/Exit without saving changes option was used to exit the program while running from a Flash/USB drive.

2/20/07 Activated version WebTrackIII version 1.2. This update formats the numeric value of the day in the DateIn field to show two digits. All data will now sort correctly in the DateIn filter and in the student data grid. Previously, DateIn records with single-digit days would not be correctly sorted in the filter list or grid.

2/5/07 Posted an update to the online Help.htm file with a few minor spelling corrections. Incorporated the update Help.htm file into a new build and posted the updated webtrackiii.zip file. The WebTrackIII instructor module did not change--it is still version 1.1.
